How to Log On to Single Sign On

Good morning!

If you are having difficulty with accessing the SAISD Single Sign-on and your District Email address please watch the video for instructions. I didn't click on the final button that says Outlook but you will, this is where a lot of things will be sent. If you need to search for something within Outlook you can always type it into the search bar that is located on the top banner to the right of the box that says "Outlook". Let us know if you have any further questions!

Digital Learning Launch!

¡A continuación encontrarás la versión 1.0 de aprendizaje a distancia para la escuela intermedia! ¡Esta semana es nuestro "lanzamiento suave" durante el cual planeamos solucionar problemas y hacer ajustes basados ​​en los comentarios de los estudiantes, padres y maestros para que este proceso funcione aún mejor en las próximas semanas! ¡Les agradecemos su paciencia ya que los 15 maestros de contenido en el nivel de escuela intermediatrabajan juntos para crear este nuevo

Para aquellos estudiantes y padres que han solicitado un enfoque más estructurado, puede encontrar un horario diario sugerido

desglosado por tiempo al final de este documento. Sabemos que muchas familias tienen obligaciones que pueden dificultar el seguimiento de ese horario diario, pero quisieron ofrecerlo a quienes les resulta útil mantenerse organizados.

Dear students and parents.

Below you will find version 1.0 of distance learning for middle school!  This week is our “soft launch” during which we plan to troubleshoot and make adjustments based on feedback from students, parents, and teachers to make this process work even better in weeks to come!  We thank you for your patience as all 15 content teachers at the middle school level work together to create this new system that will work for everyone!

Each grade level is color coded with assignments posted for each day (you will have to scroll down to get to 7th and 8th grade!).  They are listed as tasks and can be completed in any order that you wish throughout the day (for example, if you want to start with math today and then tomorrow you want to start with science, that is fine!).  For those students and parents who have requested a more structured approach, you can find a suggested daily schedule broken down by time at the end of this document.  We know that many families have obligations that may make following that daily schedule  difficult, but wanted to offer it for those who find it helpful in staying organized.  

We are thinking of all of you and miss seeing you every day!  We hope you are all staying safe and healthy and are here for you if you need anything! Feel free to reach out to any of your teachers with questions or concerns!

Middle School Field Trip and Fundraising Informational Meeting

Howdy Parents and Guardians of Middle School!

On Monday, February 10th, we will have two informational sessions regarding field trips and fundraising.

Location will be in the cafeteria from 8:30-9:30 am and a 2nd session from 2:00-3:00 pm.

Please plan to attend one of the sessions. If you are unable to attend, we can post the session minutes on here (Blogspot).

CAST Field Trip for 8th Grade Students!

CAST Schools Visit-Monday, January 27th

8th grade students are headed on a field trip to visit the CAST Schools in our district. They will visit CAST Med, CAST Tech, and ALA as part of their high school option exploration. All 8th grade families are invited, so please save the date and RSVP at this link. If you are a family in 6th or 7th grade, please let us know if you're also interested in attending so we can get a head count by Thursday, January 23rd.

Dance Fundraiser THIS FRIDAY!

Middle school will be hosting a dance for grade 2-5 this Friday after school!  We are in need of help to make this fundraiser a success!  Please feel free to email Mrs. Pardo if you are able to contribute!

Winter Party- Friday!

The middle school winter party will be on Friday starting at 1:30!  We can't wait to celebrate with students who meet all criteria to participate and to provide the opportunity to make up work for those who need it before the end of the 9 weeks!

We would love food donations or parent volunteers to help out with the party!

Who gets to participate?

• Must be passing all classes by December 19th at 4pm.  
• No discipline write-ups in the month of December
• No excessive tardies or absences, i.e., no more than:
• 1 unexcused and 1 excused absences in the month of December (discretion given for illness)
• 5 tardies in the month of December (this includes between classes)

Students who do not meet the above criteria will get a plate of food and then work on missing assignments and academic enrichment activities in a classroom for the duration of the party

A Day/ B Day

Simulations end today, Wednesday! Thursday will be a normal A day and Friday will be a normal B day.

Dual language students will have semester exams in Ms. Rodriguez's class but this will not impact the middle school schedule. 

Special 6th Grade ELAR Tutoring/Grade Recovery

Ms. Marengo will be hosting a special 6th grade ELAR tutoring after school TOMORROW, Tuesday, December 10th, from 3:30-4:30 during which students can complete missing assignments to bring grades up before the end of the quarter!  I want to give students every opportunity to bring grades up so that they can attend the Winter Party next Friday!

Barnes and Noble Fundraiser On-Line Through Wednesday!

We had a great turn out at our Barnes and Noble Book Fair Fundraiser on Saturday! If you were not able to make it out, you can still support us by purchasing items at BN.com and entering Book Fair Code: 12568788. The code is good through Wednesday and a portion of the sales go to support Bonham! Feel free to share the code with friends and family!

Progress Reports

Be sure to ask your student for their progress reports, which were passed out this week!  All signed progress reports should returned by Monday 12/9 😊

STAAR Simulations Next Week!

We will have a full simulation math STAAR test on Tuesday, 12/10 and a full simulation reading STAAR test on Wednesday, 12/11.

Please ensure that students get a good night sleep and arrive to school on time on these two days 😊
